Kalpa
   In the Hindu Creation Legend the Kalpa, or Day of Brahma, is subdivided as follows:
   1 Kalpa = 1,000 Mahayugas = 14 Manvantaras; 1 Manvantara = 71,428 Mahayugas = 857,139,000 divine years; 1 Mahayuga = 4 Yugas = 12,000 divine years; 1 divine year = 360 human years.
   The Hindu obsession with big numbers makes these figures very suspect. As mentioned elsewhere, if the 12,000 divine years of the Mahayuga are taken as ordinary years, this would give a date corresponding roughly to that of the beginning of the Hindu calendar in 11,500 BC.
